Thursday's 'Back to [Sauvignon] Blanc' tasting
Since opening the shop it's been a pleasure to taste our way around the white grape varieties, from Assyrtiko to Zibibbo. Following the success of our recent Riesling night, we thought it was about time to show Sauvignon some love. Of all the grape varieties in the shop, it's still one the most requested. Sadly it is also one of those grapes that can get overlooked in favour of the eclectic, a trap the author may have fallen into on a few occasions!
To remedy this we are planning a night in celebration of Sauvignon Blanc. We'll be opening, for all to taste, sparkling Sauvignon, biodynamic Sauvignon, high altitude Sauvignon, oaked Sauvignon, (but mainly unoaked), sweet Sauvignon (but mainly dry) and some Sauvignon Blanc blends. If you don't tend to drink Sauvignon Blanc, there's a very good we'll find one you like by the end of the evening. Failing that, you'll just have to come back next time for the Chardonnay tasting...
