Christmas gift packs

We have some gift packs. Three bottle, freshly boxed, including the very limited edition handmade cards "The Knotted Vine".

Highams Park Winter Favourites - £32 (would be £37)

I picked three reds that have been particularly popular in HIghams Park since we opened. Three terrific value reds from around the world:

Echeverria Gran Reserva Pinot Noir, Chile – from the cooler-climate, coastal region of Casablanca Valley in Chile. This is serious Pinot Noir without the usual price-tag. Think strawberries, black cherries, raspberries, dry plums with hints of chocolate and mocha, thanks to 6 months of ageing in oak barrels.

San Marzano Negroamaro “il Pumo”, Italy – this is my “go-to” Friday night recommendation when you need something that’s great with or without food. A medium-full-bodied wine, you can almost taste the sunshine from the south of Italy. Bursting with rich red fruits and a hint of spice.

Ondarre Rioja Reserva, Spain – this ticks all the boxes for the Rioja lover. 16 months of age in French and American oak, giving it a smooth yet vanilla-spiced style, balanced with bags of delicious ripe red fruits.

New Discoveries

£60

I’ve mixed this pack with the more adventurous in mind. I’ve been really struck by how excited everyone has been about going “off the beaten track”, so include my best picks from Greece, Lebanon and the UK.

Gerovassiliou Malagousia, Epanomi, Greece - I can’t help myself from opening this wine in the shop, it never lasts for long… an unusual Greek grape variety which I can drink all year round. Really expressive with exotic fruits, orange, jasmine and a mouthwatering finish. So good with Mediterranean seafood dishes and vegetables.

Furleigh Estate Blanc de Noirs 2014, Dorset – this is a husband and wife team who are growing in size and reputation all of the time. We think their Sparkling Wines are world-class. Made in the Champagne method, the Blanc de Noirs (75% Pinot Noir, 25% Pinot Meunier) is rich with intense red fruits, yet delicate on the palate. Watch out Champagne!

Massaya le Colombier, Bekaa Valley, Lebanon – France meets Lebanon in this delicate blend of four red grapes (Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Tempranillo). Beautifully pure red fruits in this delicious medium-light-bodied red, which would go perfectly with poultry, game or light cheeses, or even lightly chilled on its own.
